REVIEW: Strike Gold With Bath And Body Works!

For all those looking for an at home glow, Strike Gold by Bath And Body Works is UH-mazing. This product is very impressive. It is perfect even for day of/last minute preparations for a night out.

The one and only self tanner you need!

As the instructions state, Exfoliate area first, then apply and finally wash hands. There is a shimmer to the lotion so you can see just where it is applied. Your tan will come thru in just 4 hours! You can always reapply, but I personally just use one application and I am pretty much fair skin. The bottle says it is intended for body, but I also have great results when used on my face. Pick this up, its cheap and works like a charm!

    How much is too much!? That is the question. I will be one to admit that I have been wrapped around this train wreck of a show that is on Lifetime called Dance Moms. The woman pictured above is where the animosity begins. She is Abby Lee Miller and she owns her own dance studio in Pennsylvania.
   When I came across this show on OnDemand I did not know what to expect, but I became a follower within minutes. I think it is the uncontrollable rude Abby Lee herself who treats the dancers and the mothers like dirt on the bottom of your shoe. She constantly calls the shots with the parents and pins them up against their mothers. The mothers sit there lifeless in front of Abby Lee's face but have much to say when they are looking down on their daughters rehearsals. My question is how much is too much with the competition, the lack of respect (shown and given), and the pressure these children are under daily through parents and Abby Lee herself.

She is the queen bee of the series. You shall never be shocked from a ruthless comment that will come out of her mouth towards the mothers and their daughters. Professional??? I think NOT! Although she may be a little loony, she is successful and she is a hell of person to watch on reality television.

[ Mother of Maddie and Mackenzie ]

This woman is divorced and is very honest that he boyfriend now flips the bill for the expensive dance bills between her two daughters. She never really says much because her daughter Maddie is an UNREAL dancer and will a very successful life in dance. Her other daughter is a straight up doll, however, completely overshadowed by Maddie's success. Pretty sad!

She was a dancer for Abby Lee herself when she was younger. She gets a little caught up with Christie her Dance Mom BFF. Her life is run by Abby Lee. Her daughter Brooke does not want to dance anymore, but she herself quit at Brooke's very age... living  through your daughter's life much?

In every reality television series you have to have one character besides the lead that makes the show successful and that would be her. Her constant battle with the other dancer Maddie, yes I said the little girl not the mother, is disgraceful as a mother. Good for the show purposes but not reality when the cameras are off. She tries so hard to stand up to Abby but it never ever works out. Before you know she is chewed up and spit out by her in seconds. It is in her daughters comments and actions that you see she truly is a decent mother because she is so great.

Holly

Holly is actually one of the moms that has a life other than living through their children. She holds a doctorate and is a principal. She may have that on paper but she constantly lets Abby run her life and her child's in the dance studio. She tries to stand up to Abby but she breaks her down and then takes it out on her child. So sad.

Last but certainly not least, we have this psycho. Yes, I said it. Between her ruthless and just hateful comments that stem from jealousy and her defiant actions she is a psycho. She owns her own dance studio but her daughter goes to Abby Lee's. Weird??? I think so. you almost have to feel like this is scripted because for one person to be so out of control seems unreal. her daughter is sweet and tells her mom that she does not want to dance yet is still pushed. Take the hint woman!

This is the run down of this show. The kids eat, sleep, and drink dance. How much competition and ruthless behavior, lack of respect, and demeaning of one another is too much? Where will the line be drawn, if ever? Have you see it!?!

Do This Skin Care Routine On Days That End In Y

I am going to talk about a great skin care routine that is very successful! I have my esthetician license in Illinois so you can trust skin care advice! Ok here goes!

1. Cleanse. Cleanse your face in circular motions for around three minutes.. If you have oily skin, a water based cleanser is best. If you have dry skin, a cream based cleanser is best for you.


2. Tone. Toner can be purchased almost anywhere and is very inexpensive. This step is to ensue that the skins PH is balanced and that no cleanser is left behind.


3. Exfoliate. Do this 2-3x a week. You can purchase a chemical based or mechanical one. Chemical usually has salicylic acid in it and is a gel. A mechanical based one is a scrub. This sloughs off dead skin to give your skin a fresher look/feel!


4. Moisturize. If you have oily skin, a gel based one is best and will not clog pores. If you are on the dry side, then look out for a cream based moisturizer.


5. Sunscreen. Even if it is not summer, the sun is still damaging! Take care of yourself and apply sunscreen every morning and throughout the day. You'll thank me yourself down the line!

   Personally, Fall is my favorite season of the year!! For those who do not know, we are bloggers from Chicago, Illinois and it is currently Fall here. If it is not Fall where you live, keep reading these fashion ideas are for everyday attire in seventy degree or below weather.

   For everyday attire I like something quick and easy, and of course affordable. First, I will start with the Hunter Rain Boots. Our weather forecast in Chicago has been nothing but rainy for this whole week. This is a wonderful investment. I know they are slightly expensive ($120) but they are a wonderful investment nonetheless. You can keep these "rain" boots and wear them as "winter" boots in the upcoming months. They are very playful with the different colors and different designs of socks you can wear with them.

Next up we have the long awaited Starbucks seasonal drinks! For those who are pumpkin lovers, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is for you! It's a great way to start your day and will instantly put you in a great fall mood! If you are looking to cut calories you can ask them to give you the Skinny version, which is just as tasty!

Take your laptop to your local Starbucks to get some work done, or meet a friend/date to talk!

Another favorite is the White Hot Cocoa. It has a smooth, velvety taste.

WEDDING!!

  This passed Sunday, I celebrated my first wedding anniversary. Traditionally, for the first wedding anniversary you give your spouse paper. I know PAPER!?!? It seems so unusual, however, there are many ideas that are great. My husband gave me a card. As simple as that sounds, it is going along with tradition. My in-laws gave us money, also paper. My parents gave us paper towels, paper napkins, paper plates, and toilet paper, which was much needed (pictured below).  I think that it was an amazing idea.

     This is one of the many ways that you can exchange a gift to your spouse following tradition. You can make a photo collage on paper, name a star after them (the certificate is paper), the ideas are unless. Another tradition that you do on your first anniversary is, eat your wedding cake that is a year old. Now, I did not properly wrap mine, so I suggest to future brides to do so. The cake is def. not that tasty, but HEY, IT'S TRADITION! Below is a picture of my wedding cake.

     Other than these tradition, my husband and I went out to dinner with my parents the day after and watched football the day. Not too exciting. Anyone else do anything different for their first?!?!

Fall Beauty Routine!

Since it is fall, I thought it'd be great to discuss some changes to your beauty routine!

The air is colder which means it is actually drier. This can make your skin and far dry. Switch to a cream moisturizer and toss your gel moisturizer.



Your hair is more prone to split ends because of the dry air! Switch to a deep conditioner to lock in those split ends!

Don't forget your to moisturize your legs and elbows with lotion as well!

Pick up some self tanner to give yourself a glow, the safe way. Dont get me started on the dangers of tanning beds! Be sure to exfoliate before applying andto wash your hands thoroughly after so you hands do not turn jersey shore orange!

Being the Britney Spears fanatic I am, I of course had to find a way to add her to this blog! The Queen of Pop is releasing a remix album called B In The Mix 2, October 11th. Just another reason to LOVE fall! It will feature more recent of her hits including: Gimme more, Til the world ends, and Criminal. Criminal is off her latest #1 cd : Femme Fatale, and will also be released as a single.

AH, Dina Manzo! My favorite ex Real Housewife of New Jersey and now in her own design show on HGTV called 'Dina's Party'. If i were her I woulda left housewives as well as it got soo hectic! Dina, you go girl! Obvs she is onto bigger and better!

Dina is also the founder of the non profit organization called Project Ladybug. This charity is dedicated to those young children out there with cancer. Project Ladybug opened up a chapter in Chicago (where this blog lives) which was very successful! I hope at the very least, being on Real Housewives Of New Jersey was able to promote her charity. IT'S OFFICIAL!

THE FIRST DAY OF FALL!!!

    As you can proabbly guess, Fall is my most favorite time of year! With the crisp breeze from the wind to the crunch under your toes as the leaves fall. This atomsphere is never overrated. Another reason why I love fall is because of the activites that come with fall. below are a list of the TOP 5 Fall Acitivites.

1. Halloween

      I love, love, love Halloween. For those who know me it not necessarily for the horror of it all, because I am a whimp when it come to scary movies, but it is for the imagination that comes along with it. I think for the rest of my life it will always be my favorite to use your imagination, yes use it, not buy a pre-made slut-o-ween costume. Later, I will show the BEST costume that I ever did with my husband.

2. Pumpkin Patch/ Apple Picking

     To most men, this is just another job that they have to do to make the wife or girlfriend happy, at least that is for me. I enjoy picking out the perfect pumpkin and then going home to carve it.

3. Desserts/Food

     Right about now Starbucks has the Pumpkin Spiced Lattes, which are unreal. Bakersquare has Pumpkin Pie. Yum, Yum, Yum!

4. Corn Mazes

     The corn mazes are so much fun.

5. FOOTBALL!

    This is last, but certainly NOT least. There is nothing like the season of shit talking, bragging rights, and just another reason to crack open a cold one.

I took it upon myself to do several  a taste test. It delivered in taste and quality! It is a great tasting pre mixed margarita. The price isn't too bad either, usually around $15 a bottle.

OUCH!

     Jerome Simpson, a WR of the Cincinatti Bengals, was caught with a 2.5 pound shipment of marajuana in his house. After, the house was searched there was an additional six pounds. Fellow teammate Anthony Collins, a tackle, was currently at the location throughout the search. This is after following Jermone Simpson's career high this past Sunday. YIKES! They are currently detained but not arrested. Let's see if either are assests to the Bengals! Good Luck FELLAS!

TURNED 30!

  Last night, Nicole Richie through a bash for her 30th birthday party. The former troublemaker, party girl, and Paris Hilton's right hand girl was able to celebrate with a top of the line guest list. She was sporting a wonderful 1920's inspired vintage hot red dress with her husband on her arm. The picture above was one the Nicole Richie posted on her twitter page.

#1 HOUSEWIFE

  Above, is the newest cast member of Season 6 Peggy Tanous. She joined the Bravo arm in arm with Alexis, another castmate. I am writing about Peggy, because I may or may not have a girl crush on her (Just Kidding!). Truly, I do find her to be one of the only housewives you can be on the same level with. Of course not everyone has had their boobs done, or have long blonde hair, and are able to drive the cars that she does, however, those are just objects and our superficial. 

   From the moment that she was introduced to the millions of fans, I knew I would like her. She has not failed me yet, and I sure do not think that she can. Her ablity to listen and not involve herself in other problems is impecable. Also, the mere fact that she did not loose it with all the competition that went on with Alexis was admirable. 





   If I talk about Peggy in my blog, it could not be done with out her husband Micah. I mean how would one be a considered a "housewife" at all with out a husband... Kim Zolciak? In any regard, Peggy is the woman she is with the help from her husband, and who could forget those wonderful kids. Personally, I cannot wait for the next season to open. Peggy, don't fail me now!! =)

 Last night I finally was able to watch the movie that everyone has been ranting and raving about, Bridesmaids. I told my husband that according to many reviews it was not your standard "chick flick". Although, at the end of the movie it sure did feel like it. Do not get me wrong there were funny parts here and there, but overall it was not all it was cracked up to. Anyone disagree?

FEELING STRESSED OUT LATELY??

Work, family, school, the car that just cut you off, someone who is rude, a frenemy….(the list goes on) All these things can stress a lady out! We all know stress is horrible for the body, inside and out! We unfortunately can not completely stop all of the stress, but there is one thing we can do! We can eat a gallon of ice cream WORK OUT!

NEW SERIES:: The New Girl

   The New Girl on Fox premiered last night and did very well for its opener. There have been many commercials throughout the summer that have been promoting the series and it was one that caught my eye. I was able to catch the pilot OnDemand with Comcast and it was amazing. It is a wonderful twist on the lifestyles, living situations, and relationship in our generations, as well as, many to come. I def. will be tuning in next week. Will you!??

BEARS VS. PACKERS

   Probably the best time of year has come around, FOOTBALL SEASON. This Sunday, September 25th, 2011 the most noted rivalries in the Midwest will take place in the Windy City. It is going to be a nail biter. Last year, the Bears failed to prevail in the game that could have costed the Packers a ring. (Probably one of the worst days of my life... BEAR DOWN CHICAGO BEARS!).

  It will come down to if the Bears O-Line can give Cutler sometime in the pocket. His stats vs. the Packers are not so great. With about a 2 INT passes per game. Aaron Rodgers always comes to play, but hopefully our D-Line startles him a litte... wishful thinking never hurt anyone, right?

  It will be a game of epic proportions and full of excitement. I have always and will forever be a CHICAGO BEAR FAN!

KIM ZOLCIAK is GETTING HER OWN SHOW!

  Take a look at this HOT MESS! Yes, I said it, because that's what she is. Granted she a HOT MESS making a fortunate, but nonetheless a HOT MESS!!! She is supposedly getting her own show, following in the footsteps of Bethenny Frankel. Do they compare?!?!! NOT AT ALL. Well, good luck to her in any regards. It's a guilty pleasure, trainwreck... the words can keep coming and for sure I will watch!!

Realhousewives of New Jersey

  Last night, I was finally able to catchup on one of the hottest Bravo television series, Realhousewives of New Jersey. For those who do not know, this season was consumed by the family brawl between siblings... The Gorga's vs. The Giudice's.

  We were introduced to Joe and Melissa Gorga this season. Joe Gorga is Teresa Giudice's brother. There is a history of hate, betrayal, and low blows that occur throughout every episode. It at times is extremely hard to watch a family just break while the children, who they are suppose to be role models for, break at the seams. This is when you ask yourself, would you go on national television hanging it all on the table, watching your children be in pain, and your family break apart even more from this animosity?

  Between the two woman, Melissa and Teresa, is a constant competition of beauty, money, looks, and being the best mommy. The backstabbing that happens after the initial conversations between the two is unreal. Let's grow up! Instead of blaming the young generations for their lack of respect, consideration, and etc. let's be the role models we should be.

  I truly hope for nothing but the best for these two families and may they act like adults and do it not for themselves but the health of their parents and the shine in their children's eyes when they see their cousins.
